Somatic Healing
INDIVIDUAL SOMATIC HEALING SESSIONS
Somatic healing sessions address experiences, history and trauma that can be held in our systems unconsciously yet have profound impacts on the quality of the attachment relationship with ourselves and with others. We all come into form with an original blueprint unique to our own soul-spirit path. This original blueprint is then imprinted by whatever family field we enter into, whatever experiences we have in conception, gestation, birth and in the first 3 years after birth in particular - the pre and perinatal period of life. It is here where we learn about bonding with ourselves and develop attachment relationships with caregivers, and develop hopefully a sense of loveableness and trust in the world. Of course later life experiences can also leave powerful imprints, which benefit from having support to resolve. But the first 3 years of life beginning with the conception period has been found to be profoundly impactful in creating the foundation for our experience of life that defines our capacity for healthy adult relationships, our feelings and beliefs about ourselves, our sense of safety and trust in the world. To address this kind of implicit or somatic/unconscious imprinting requires specific attention and therapeutic approaches that may include but also go below the cognitive “talking” approach to healing, and address the somatically held layers of trauma and experience - the emotions and sensations that are held in our bodies in an unconscious way, yet nevertheless impact us and are often “acted out” unconsciously throughout our lifetimes, sometimes in destructive and painful ways, if not brought into conscious awareness. With support and awareness, consciousness of these underlying powerful imprints allows us to gradually develop the skills and capacities to make more life-giving, healthy and loving choices.
